Las Vegas MGM Grand
The MGM Grand is a
Hollywood-inspired luxury hotel and
casino along the Las Vegas Strip. It
is the second largest hotel in the
entire world and is the second
largest hotel complex in the
country. The largest is the
Venetian, which is also in Las
Vegas.
The hotel and casino is owned and
operated by publicly traded company
MGM Mirage.
Its main building stands at nearly
300 feet high with 30 floors. It has
five indoor pools, waterfalls and
rivers that occupy more than six
acres of space. It is also home to a
380,000 square feet convention
center, the MGM Grand
Garden Arena, 16 restaurants, the
CBS Television City, several night
clubs and retail shops, and Clark
County’s largest casino that sits on
an area of 171,500 square feet.
The MGM Grand offers accommodations
in several building including the
main hotel building which has over
five thousand rooms, the three
Signature at MGM Grand towers which
each have almost six hundred suites,
the Skylofts at MGM which house 51
lofts, and the Mansion at MGM Grand
which have 29 stunning villas.
The hotel’s signature attraction is
the glass-encased lion habitat
located inside the casino. Everyday,
six lions are put on display. The
lions are owned by expert trainer
Keith Evans, and are properly taken
care of at his ranch outside the
city. |
